Why Do You Need a Modified Grade Sheet?
Submitting the default printout from the BPUT result portal can hurt your first impression. Here’s why:
- ✅ Backlog subjects often appear on a separate page in the portal printout.
- ⚠️ That makes it obvious you cleared some papers in multiple attempts.
- 😕 Recruiters/interviewers can read this as a negative—even when you’ve already cleared them.
- 🔁 After clearing a backlog, the portal shows two different SGPAs (main page vs. backlog page).
- ❗ Neither SGPA is actually correct because the system doesn’t re-compute the weighted SGPA across all cleared credits.
- 📑 Yet in the final official certificate, there’s no backlog history at all—just the correct aggregates.
Until your final certificate arrives, you should be able to present a fair, accurate record.

FAQs
📘 What is a Modified Grade Sheet?
A cleaned, consolidated grade sheet that reflects your correct, recomputed SGPA after clearing backlogs—without split pages or confusing duplicates.
📊 Why does BPUT show mismatched SGPAs?
Backlog clears often list on a separate page and the portal doesn’t re-run the weighted SGPA across all cleared credits—so both the “old” and “new” SGPAs can be wrong.
🧠 Is the calculation accurate?
Yes. The app uses the official BPUT formula: CGPA/SGPA = Σ(grade points × credits) ÷ Σ(credits), recomputed after clears.
📱 Is it available on the website?
No. This feature is exclusive to our Android app for a better, secure experience and offline access.
